Nelson School of Music Scholarship

Recently Louisa of Room 1 won equal First Prize in the 11 years and under piano scholarship. Louisa is a student of Erica Cumming and has been learning the piano for two years.

Taekwondo Nelson Marlborough

Open Tournament
Congratulations to Emma room 5, Natasha room 2 and Jake room 6 who competed in the Taekwondo Nelson Marlborough Open Tournament in Richmond on the weekend. Competitors were from Nelson, Marlborough, Canterbury and Bay City Tauranga.

Emma is a green belt and has been learning Taekwando for 2 years. She competed in the 1 metre 31cm section gaining 2nd place.

Natasha is a green belt and has been learning Taekwondo for 3 years. This was the first competition she has competed in and gained 2nd place in 1m 32 cm and won the trophy for the best spirited fighter.

Jake is a green belt blue tip who has been learning Taekwondo for 5 years. He was 3rd in the 1.40 to 1.45 m section.

Music Scholarship


Well done Claire, rm 5, for winning the Nancy Stayner Youth Choir Trust under 12 scholarship - first equal. Claire was singing against older singers including her older sister Freya.

In the school holidays Claire competed in the Marlborough competitions coming first in several classes winning herself the Daphne Payne cup for under 10 y.o. age group.
